Who We Are

Unexpected Company is an Iowa-based group of artists, dedicated to providing "unexpected" theatrical experiences to schools and communities. The company was created with the following objectives:

• To bring to life classic works of drama, literature and poetry in a fresh and dynamic fashion.
• To develop and produce new plays, musicals and performance pieces.
• To form collaborations and create new works with artists in other disciplines.
• To provide creative services and resources to artists, educators, arts organizations, schools and non-profits.

at The Kruideneir Auditorium in the Iowa State Historical Museum

in the Chapel at Westminster Presbyterian Church

4114 Allison Avenue (corner of Frankin & Beaver) in Des Moines

Performances are FREE to the Public with free will donations accepted.

Seating is limited at both locations.

Actor/Singers Needed:

Thank You to everyone who auditioned April 28-29.
The cast list will be posted soon.

There are still some roles that have not been cast, and we are looking for the following:

Male & female actor/singers, ages 16-70. Both African American and Caucasian actors needed, but actors of all backgrounds/races are welcome. Performance and some recording. No stipends for actors, but as this is a workshop, rehearsal commitment is minimal and no memorization is required.
